Meet the Artist: A Conversation with Claye Bowler and E-J Scott Join us in celebrating the London debut of solo exhibition Top (2022) by artist Claye Bowler, with a special conversation between the Claye Bowler and E-J Scott, curator and creator of the Museum of Transology. Exploring how trans stories are institutionally represented or erased in museums and archives, Top (2022) is a sculptural installation that mimics a museum store documenting Bowlers six-year journey through the UK healthcare system to obtain top surgery. Originally shown at the Henry Moore Institute, Leeds, this exhibition takes Clayes personal journey as a starting point to talk about wider issues that affect trans people when accessing gender affirming healthcare. The conversation will delve into the creative process behind the exhibition, the political significance of the work, and the power relations between museums and the protection of trans stories and experiences.
