Calm Carving with River Manning @ Queer Britain

Have you always wanted to create a print of your favourite carabiner, your trusting old pair of Docs, or perhaps your lucky jockstrap - Then this is the workshop for you! Join us for Calm Carving hosted by River Manning, part of Queer Britain's Pride Workshops. Perfect for all levels of experience, this workshop will take you through all the steps of lino printing using queer objects. Feel free to bring your own queer items or use the ones provided! During this 2-hour session, youll be taken through every part of the process, whatever your skill level, and leave with your very own personally designed lino print! A relaxed environment for all queer people to get together and be creative. South London based multimedia artist River Manning's collections of lino prints explore the parallels between transness, growth and beauty in the natural world as well as the history of queer pride and protest. Each print is handmade from the initial design to the final press making each one unique. River also creates digital illustrations that look at sex & kink within the queer and trans community in a fun, playful way. Note on tickets: We are committed to making our events accessible to everyone, regardless of financial circumstances. If cost is a barrier for you, please email Katie at Hello@QueerBritain.org.uk. We will be happy to offer a complimentary ticket to ensure you can participate in this workshop.
