Will Young in Strictly Ballroom (until 21 July) @ Piccadilly Theatre

Baz Luhrmanns Strictly Ballroom the Musical waltzes into the Piccadilly Theatre for a West End run, following a hugely successful revival at the West Yorkshire Playhouse in 2016. Originally premiering in 2014 at Australias Sydney Lyric Theatre, the vibrant production is an uplifting celebration that inspired the world to dance! Now the production returns, featuring a star-studded cast including Will Young and Zizi Strallen. Based on Luhrmanns 1992 film of the same name, starring Paul Mercurio and Tara Morice, the story is adapted from a short play Luhrmann wrote in the 1980s. Strictly Ballroom follows competitive ballroom dancer Scott, who is hell-bent on bending the rules to create his own moves, much to the ballroom-purists chagrin. But when he teams up with left-footed partner Fran, Scott defies the rules to follow his heart and win the Pan Pacifics his own way. ,
