Jermyn Street Theatre and PROUD HADDOCK present The SCANDAL SEASON THE DOG BENEATH THE SKIN By W. H. Auden and Christopher Isherwood A rediscovered classic Directed by Jimmy Walters Designed by Rebecca Brower Score by Jeremy Warmsley Sound by Dinah Mullen Lighting by Catherine Webb Movement Director Ste Clough Praise for Proud Haddocks previous productions. ENTERTAINING AND POWERFULLY ACTED The Guardian SOMETHING PRETTY SPECIAL Time Out Places sometimes look different when one comes back to them The sleepy village of Pressan Ambo has a secret. Ten years ago, Francis Crewe disappeared. Every year, a man is chosen by lot to go searching for Francis but none have ever come home. This year, Alan Norman is chosen and accompanied by a surprisingly intelligent dog; he sets out on a journey through 1930s pre-war Europe. A nationalist threat however is on the rise and when Alan returns home to Pressan Ambo, he finds it a very different place to how he left it. Part madcap adventure, part piercing social satire, Auden and Isherwoods vivid depiction of a world on the brink of collapse has never seemed so timely. Starring: Pete Ashmore, Cressida Bonas, Edmund Digby Jones, Eva Feiler, Rujenne Green, Suzann Mclean, James Marlowe and Adam Sopp. Proud Haddock celebrate unearthed stories by classical playwrights. Founded by Jimmy Walters and James Ahearne in 2014, Proud Haddock continues to bring great stories to the stage from beloved playwrights.
