The Food Chain are delighted to be collaborating with Oekse for their Spring Supper held at Acorn House, Kings Cross on Wednesday 26th April. Oekse is a dining experience centered around the Nordic kitchen with Asian influence. Made up of two cultures that seem far apart but connected through tradition and technique, both are underlined by their respect for the raw ingredient, their techniques in preservation and fermentation, and their love for aesthetics and simplicity. Oekse is an interpretation of the new Nordic manifesto, using whenever possible regional, organic and sustainable produce. Headed by Mikkel Gregersen (Copenhagen) and Barry Quek (Singapore) their aim is to produce elegant, powerful food that celebrates the produce; using their traditions and surroundings to the fullest - not only by cooking seasonally, but preserving the season to create interesting menus all year round. Your ticket includes a bespoke cocktail made by Bold Spirits, and we will also be raffling some very enticing prizes. Selected wines by Top Selection, Boutique Merchant of the Year at the 2016 Sommelier Wine Awards and beer from local Islington craft brewery Hammerton will be available for a suggested cash donation. All funds raised on the evening will go to the direct delivery of the Food Chain's services, helping to ensure that no one living with HIV in London has their health compromised by lack of appropriate nutrition.
