Artist Maurice Vellekoop will host an informal presentation upon his practice as an illustrator, comic book artist and gay eroticist, as he strives to balance creative ambitions with economic survival. Examples will draw upon the artists personal archive, ranging from early zines including A Mens Room Reader, Guilt and Fear Comics, to Fabulous Babes, editorial commissions and published collections, including ABC Book: A Homoerotic Primer, Maurice Vellekoops Pin-Ups, A Nut at the Opera, Vellevision, The World of Gloria Badcock, Drawn & Quarterly, Sex Tips From A Dominatrix and more. This activity will be drawing from predominantly gay male material, but will also include female subjects. This is an 18+ event, which contains explicit illustration of a sexual nature. Do not book if you are easily offended. Proof of age may be required upon entry. Cockadoodle: The Erogenous Art of Maurice Vellekoop, curated by Bren O'Callaghan, is supported by Arts Council England and Manchester Pride Fringe. http://on.fb.me/1s3xWw6
