In the UK we have seen many changes to equality legislation and some movement towards greater inclusion of LGBT people within many of the churches including the ability for same sex couples to get married in some churches. Do these changes have an effect on the homosexual lifestyle? How as LGBT Christians do we understand the ethical use of sex, drugs and music? How can the Bible inform our moral codes? Can one rule fit all or do we need a different set of ethical guidelines? These questions and many more will be on the table for exploration throughout the day, so come along and learn, debate and contribute. From my study of the Synoptic Jesus I have concluded that four virtues are especially important and distinctive, namely: compassion, care, faith and humility (together with a strong condemnation of hypocrisy). I would plan to talk at some length about these four virtues and one condemnation which I believe are crucial for all interpersonal relationships, including sexuality. Professor Robin Gill, Keynote Speaker.
